During the Edinburgh School Board meeting on October 19, 2026, seventh-grade student Camdyn Gast was awarded a commemorative plaque in recognition of earning a perfect score on the Spring 2026 ILEARN English/Language Arts assessment.
Camdyn, the son of Justin and Brooke Gast, has maintained a remarkable academic record, earning a place on the A Honor Roll every semester of his academic career without ever receiving a grade below an A. Beyond his classroom accomplishments, Camdyn is an active student athlete who represents Edinburgh Schools in both basketball and track.
Although the Gast family relocated to neighboring Franklin a few years ago, they made the deliberate choice to keep Camdyn enrolled in the Edinburgh Community School system; a commitment to the district he proudly represents as a dedicated Lancer.
An avid fan of the Florida Gators, Camdyn aspires to pursue his higher education at the University of Florida. With his proven work ethic across both academics and athletics, his future is exceptionally bright.
High School/Middle School Principal, Kevin Rockey noted, “"While we are certainly proud of Camdyn's academic achievement, we are even more pleased that he is an overall outstanding young man".
